CCABC Convening

Broadband and Health Care
November 21, 2013

The full "Connected Capital Area" Broadband Consortium (CCABC) will convene on November 21st at the Sierra Health Foundation from 9:00am to 11:00am.

With the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, access to health insurance is growing, but with that comes challenges with physician availability.  We are lining up a fantastic group of speakers to help us understand how broadband-enabled solutions will help with access to health care.

Confirmed speakers include Eric Brown, President and CEO of the California Telehealth Network and Maria Steele, Sacramento Employment and Training Agency (SETA). Eric will share and update on the rollout of the California Telehealth Network (CTN), and upcoming changes that will help CTN members in rural areas increase their access to health care. Maria will be speaking about Covered California and SETA findings regarding research that has been conducted recently in relation to the digital divide and healthcare.

Update! Tara Thronson, Valley Vision / CCABC will be providing an update on broadband-related activities in the CCABC region includling an Infrastructure Funding Update from the CPUC on Implementation of SB 740.

Reserve your seat today to learn more about Broadband and Health Care, and to hear an update on the CCABC's activities!
