Edmundo is the President of Mercy General Hospital, a 342 bed not-for-profit hospital that provides a wide range of health, support and social services with special advocacy for the poor and underserved in the Sacramento region. Edmundo's 14 years in healthcare management has garnered extensive experience in acute and tertiary care hospital leadership as well as operations at large hospitals with strong cardiovascular capabilities; clinic management; and physician integration.
Edmundo came to Mercy General from Tenet Healthcare Corporation's Sierra Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, where he served as Chief Executive Officer of the 351-bed regional medical center. In that role, he created the Regional Brain and Spine Institute, held the market leading position for open heart and thoracic surgical services and started development of a clinical integration organization. Prior to that, Edmundo served as Chief Executive Officer of Lea Regional Medical Center in Hobbs, New Mexico and Chief Operating Officer of Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Edmundo holds a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. Edmundo and his wife, Veronica, reside in Sacramento with their three children.
