As founding President & CEO of the California Rice Commission (CRC), Tim Johnson leads one of the state's most highly regarded agricultural organizations. The Sacramento-based CRC represents all growers and handlers that comprise the state's rice industry, which annually contributes more than $1.8 billion to California's economy. Tim is actively engaged in national farm policy and regulatory issues. His travels have taken him to the industry's major export markets in Asia to develop effective promotion campaigns that introduce new consumers to California rice. Prior to heading the CRC, Tim gained more than a decade of food industry experience with companies including Frito-Lay, Producers Dairy and the California Rice Promotion Board. He holds a BS in Business Administration and an MBA from San Jose State University. Tim and his wife Ann are also partners in a family vineyard. Their Sierra Foothills vines are known for producing award-winning Zinfandels.
