Jenny Wagner

Project Associate

Jenny is a recent graduate from the Master of Public Health program at UC Davis. During her time as a graduate student, Jenny worked as an intern with Valley Vision’s health portfolio team on the 2016 Community Health Needs Assessments for hospital systems throughout the Sacramento region. Since graduating, Jenny has transitioned to a new role within Valley Vision, now working as an Executive Fellow supporting the School2Home Neighborhood Transformation initiative based at Leataata Floyd Elementary School.

Until finding a place with Valley Vision, Jenny’s professional experiences revolved largely around academic support services, program administration, and teaching. As an undergraduate student, Jenny studied Exercise Biology and Nutrition at UC Davis, while working as a calculus and statistics tutor and program coordinator for the Student Academic Success Center (SASC) on campus. As a graduate student, Jenny acclimated to new roles within the SASC, leading courses and workshops in both math and statistics.

Jenny’s interest in public health stems from her educational background in exercise, nutrition, and aging in both healthy and diseased populations, knowledge that she hopes to utilize in planning and implementing programs to reduce the burden of disease and improve quality of life among Sacramento County residents. In her free time, Jenny enjoys hiking, painting, exercising, and traveling.
