Caitlin Blockus

Caitlin joined Valley Vision as a Project Associate in 2021, and has supported both the 21st Century Workforce and Broadband & Digital Equity Impact Areas. Caitlin currently serves as a Project Manager over 21st Century Workforce.

Professional Experience

During her undergraduate career, Caitlin worked within the University of California Riverside’s Office of Sustainability, working with university officials to track and improve usage of green energy. Caitlin’s passion for policy was sparked during her time as a Legislative Intern in the Office of Congressman Raul Ruiz in Washington, DC, where she conducted policy research and wrote Congressional reports. Caitlin also spent time as a former camp counselor and swimming instructor for children and young adults with disabilities in upstate New York. 

After graduating with honors from UC Riverside with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy, Caitlin joined a Sacramento-based public affairs firm, overseeing outreach and building a 50+ organization coalition. Prior to her time at Valley Vision, Caitlin served as a Field Organizer on a progressive congressional campaign in her home district and worked as a Consultant for a Bay Area-based political consulting firm.

Interests

Training and spending time with my rescue dog Dahlia and my dumpster kitten Rocco. Getting my hands dirty while trying to turn clay mud into art on a pottery wheel. Binging documentaries and listening to true crime and political podcasts. Eating soup, cheese, and spicy food. Tent camping and hiking in the forests of Northern California with my partner. Laying under my 25 pound weighted blanket.
