The last year and a half has accelerated unprecedented changes in the workplace. This advisory seeks to understand the evolution of work structures by examining survey results from the region’s employers to gain insight on the specifics of remote work.

Join us as we discuss the ever-changing dynamics of workforce structure such as recruitment, onboarding, staff interactions, and the adoption of virtual tools to augment productivity in:

  • Communication and collaboration
  • Virtual meeting platforms and interactive polling
  • Document and information sharing
  • Project management

Electric Vehicle Virtual Advisory Series (August & September 2021)

Part one of our Electric Vehicle Virtual Advisory Series took place on Friday, August 27th, 2021. This event included presentations on the trends and opportunities within the zero-emission vehicles (ZEV) space, an overview of the policy implications of state and federal regulations, and input from community-based programs that are dedicated to providing the region’s ZEV workforce with the training they need to be successful.

As California makes the switch to widespread electric vehicle transportation, the Greater Sacramento Region needs to ensure our training programs keep pace and provide access to traditionally disinvested populations.


Part two of our Electric Vehicle Virtual Advisory Series took place on Friday, September 17th, 2021. This advisory featured a panel of employers and industry stakeholders on current and emerging skills needed across the range of electric vehicle-related occupations.

This cross sector event includes occupations in Energy, Construction, and Utilities (ECU), Advanced Transportation and Logistics (ATL) and Advanced Manufacturing.  

As California makes the switch to widespread electric vehicle transportation, the Greater Sacramento Region needs to ensure our training programs keep pace and provide access to traditionally disinvested populations. This advisory will feature innovative practices from other colleges, examine existing inventory of training programs in our region, and present labor market and occupational trends in this rapidly changing field.

Sacramento Coalition for Digital Inclusion: June 18th Meeting

Please join us at the Sacramento Coalition for Digital Inclusion (SCDI) for our monthly meeting on June 18, 2021. This virtual meeting will feature an exciting guest speaker presentation from Scott Adams, the Deputy Director of Broadband and Digital Literacy from the California Department of Technology, who will be presenting on California’s Broadband For All Action Plan.

The Los Rios Community College District, in partnership with Valley Vision, and in collaboration with Lake Tahoe Community College, Sierra College, and Yuba Community College District, invests Strong Workforce funding to organize and convene Regional Advisories. The objectives of the Regional Advisory meetings are to build strong relationships between employers, educators, and workforce.
