As CEO of Valley Vision since 2007, Bill has been at the center of designing, managing and supporting regional impact initiatives that improve the quality of life for California’s Capital Region and its 2.4 million residents for more than a decade. He has built partnerships with hundreds of leaders, organizations and community stakeholders and has worked across sectors—political, geographical and economic—to generate solutions to some of the region’s most complex challenges.
Under Bill’s leadership, Valley Vision is widely respected as a clearinghouse for unbiased research and analysis and for facilitating tough conversations addressing large-scale change initiatives. Bill has helped the organization become instrumental in growing the region’s local food and ag economy, improving transportation infrastructure and land-use strategies, increasing job growth and wealth creation, improving air quality and environmental sustainability, and making sure that those most in need have access to food, healthcare, education and the Internet.

- Field representative and policy advisor, member of Congress, Washington, DC
- Field representative and policy advisor at the California State Capitol for senators and assemblymembers.
Bill earned a double bachelors’ degree in communications and government from Sacramento State in 1990 and is a graduate of several leadership programs, including the American Leadership Forum – Mountain Valley Chapter, Class XII. He holds statewide volunteer positions as a member of the California Asian Chamber of Commerce board, is both past chairman and current co-chairman of the California Stewardship Network, and co-chairman of the California Economic Summit steering committee. Locally, Bill serves as a board member of Breathe California Sacramento Region and was recognized with the 2011 Unity Award, the top recognition from the Sacramento Urban League.
Bill has three grown sons; Nick, Daniel and Brian. In his spare time, Bill enjoys road biking, the outdoors, hiking and fishing, and catching up on the latest trends in business, technology, and science.
