Houa joins Valley Vision as an Executive Assistant/Project Associate focusing on a new project: California For All Public Outreach and Education Campaign. She will be supporting the creation and delivery of emergency preparedness education to communities throughout California that will increase disaster resiliency among California’s most vulnerable populations.
Prior to joining the Valley Vision team, she was a fellow as a startup company’s Public Relations Administrative Assistant managing their front desk operations, marketing and communications, and event management.
Houa graduated from Sacramento State in May 2018 with a B.A. in Psychology. During her undergraduate career, she has held mentoring and program assistant roles at various campus departments to provide student support services in leadership development, professional development, academic success, and mental wellbeing. She has also presented her own leadership development trainings and other works at campus, local, and national level conferences.
Although Houa’s hometown is Fresno, CA, the Sacramento County became her second home because of its diverse community. She spends most her of free time reading, running by the American River, painting/drawing, and listening to the words of wisdom from others whom she encounters.
