This 2014-15 research brief is an analysis of publicly available documentation of Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) awards from the State of California in 2014-15 and is intended to:
- Describe the GGRF that was awarded within the Sacramento Capital Region, made up of Sacramento, El Dorado, Placer, Sutter, Yolo and Yuba counties
- Compare the amount of GGRF investment in regions across the state to assess how the Capital region performed in statewide competition and/or distribution of funds
- Demonstrate areas of underinvestment within the Capital region and recommend actions for improved outcomes in the next cycle of GGRF award opportunities
It is critical that proactive steps are taken in the Capital region to ensure that needed investments are made to develop and advance projects capable of delivering GHG emission reductions at funding levels commensurate with the region’s population needs.
